When to Vaccinate Your Kitten

6 to 8 Weeks

  • FVRCP vaccine

10 to 12 Weeks

  • FVRCP booster
  • FeLV vaccine (recommended for most kittens)

14 to 16 Weeks

  • Final FVRCP booster
  • FeLV booster
  • Rabies vaccine

1 Year Later

  • Booster vaccines

After that, vaccines are typically given every 1 to 3 years depending on the vaccine and your cat’s lifestyle.

What These Vaccines Protect Against

FVRCP

Protects against:

These viruses can cause severe upper respiratory infections, mouth ulcers, fever, and serious gastrointestinal disease.

Rabies

Protects against rabies, a fatal virus that can spread to humans. Required by law in most states.

FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus)

Protects against a contagious virus that weakens the immune system and can lead to severe illness and certain cancers. Recommended especially for kittens and cats that go outdoors or may be exposed to other cats.
